What’s Next?

Every woman eventually asks it. Usually quietly. Usually when no one is watching.

What’s next?

Not because anything is broken. Your life might look fine from the outside. The business is running. The people are fed. The calendar is full. But underneath all of that, a question has started knocking, and it won’t stop.

What’s next for me?

Here’s what I know after 20+ years of sitting across from women at every stage of building: the “what’s next” moment is not a crisis. It’s an invitation. It’s the sound of a woman outgrowing a chapter she worked hard to build.

And almost no room you walk into makes space for that conversation.

Why you haven’t said it out loud

Think about the rooms you’re in. The boardroom needs you to have the answers. Home needs you to hold it together. Your friends love you, but they’ve known the current version of you for years, and people get nervous when you start changing the shape of things.

So you carry the question quietly. You tell yourself you’ll figure it out later. You stay busy enough that the knocking fades into background noise.

But it doesn’t go away. It just gets louder in the moments you’re honest with yourself. In the car. In the shower. At 2 a.m.

Clarity first

Everything you want to build starts with seeing clearly. That’s not a platitude, it’s the actual order of operations. You cannot strategize your way into a next chapter you haven’t named yet.

So name it. Start with three honest questions, and answer them like no one will ever read them:

1. What part of my life still fits, and what part am I outgrowing? Be specific. “My business” is not specific. “The way I run my business, doing everything myself because I don’t trust anyone to do it right” is specific.

2. What would I build if I weren’t afraid of disappointing anyone? Not the polished answer. The real one. The one that makes your chest tighten a little.

3. What am I tolerating that I would never advise another woman to tolerate? This one cuts deepest, because you already know the answer.

You don’t need all the answers today. You need the honesty today. Clarity is not a lightning bolt. It’s a decision to stop pretending you don’t know.

The room where you get to ask

I built The Conversation Room: Off the Record for exactly this moment. Not a networking group. Not a program. A room where women say the thing they haven’t said anywhere else, and discover they’re not the only one carrying it.

Because here’s what I’ve watched happen, over and over: a woman speaks her “what’s next” out loud in a room of women who actually listen, and something shifts. Not because anyone fixed it for her. Because saying it out loud is the first act of building it.

Your vision doesn’t just stay a dream. It becomes your reality. But first, you have to say what it is.

So I’ll ask you the question most rooms won’t:

What’s next for you? And what would change if you stopped carrying the answer alone?

Pull up a seat. This is your tribe.
