About Our Founder

Petula brings over 15 years of expertise in leadership, operations, and organizational development, specializing in driving transformative change within both non-profit and for-profit sectors. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing, she combines her academic foundation with hands-on experience to deliver impactful solutions.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Petula is passionate about yoga, caring for her fur baby, and savoring fine wines. Her diverse interests fuel her holistic approach to life and work, fostering creativity and balance in all endeavors.

As she often reflects, "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." This timeless wisdom guides Petula in both her personal and professional endeavors, inspiring perseverance and growth along every path she takes.

My journey

My journey as a brown woman in America has been a testament to resilience, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to challenging the status quo. Born to immigrant parents from Trinidad & Tobago, I learned early on the harsh realities of discrimination and marginalization. Yet, it was within the nonprofit sector—the very realm that professes to champion social justice and equity—that I faced some of my greatest challenges.

Despite my passion for serving others, I encountered systemic barriers and entrenched biases that sought to diminish my contributions and stifle my voice. From subtle microaggressions to blatant discrimination, the nonprofit world proved to be a battleground where my identity as a woman was often met with skepticism and scrutiny.

As the years passed, I forged a path of resilience, fueled by the desire to transcend the limitations imposed upon me as a brown woman. Yet, the challenges persisted. From the insidious specter of sexism and harassment in corporate America to the daunting task of securing funding for my entrepreneurial dreams, each obstacle served as a crucible, forging me into a woman of unwavering grit and determination.

My journey led me to the realization that my purpose lies in empowering women to embrace their innate strength and resilience. It was this conviction that fueled the birth of VisionReady, a manifestation of my soul's deepest longing to serve others. With each day, I am honored to walk alongside fellow women, offering support, guidance, and a steadfast belief in their limitless potential.

But my journey is far from over. As I stand on the precipice of the future, I am filled with a sense of purpose and determination. My vision for VisionReady is one of growth, impact, and transformative change. Together, we will rewrite the narrative for women, forging a path of empowerment, equity, and boundless opportunity.
